it's getting better all the time

clouds don’t block the view
and neither do any negative thoughts.

the safe injection site is secure,
even from the terrorists who currently
inhabit our federal government
who want to destroy the basic foundations
of our society
and teach the raw to live
majestically
like they have always done.

yes, I just called them terrorists,
and yes, that’s probably punishable
and traceable by CSIS
because economic terrorism,
in the form of poverty induction,
is evil.
and environmental terrorism,
in the form of blatant disregard,
is evil.
and social terrorism,
in the form of persecution of those already marginalized,
is evil.

but things are getting better all the time.

the best part is how much we’re winning,
because that’s what we do,
win the hearts
and the minds
and then the people follow.

watch me be pulled over at the border,
my passport seized,
my future apprehended
by those who disagree.

those with power always do sort out their differences
through bullying.

but those of us with the real power
the power of the ideas and the ideals and the identities
worth protecting
are here, on the front lines,
staring up at the clouds and seeing through
them and their negative thoughts.
