my kind of life
Mr. Douglas, bring me this tear
for the fear evaporates when I hear those words
I also want the free reign to roam with dogs
maybe not wearing slacks
but certainly plant the seeds for the future generations to follow
and to provide whatever nourishment I can to youngsters
like myself
Mr. Douglas, what a wonderful outlook
when one can invision an epitath showing nothing more
than “he liked people.” I like people myself, Mr. Douglas.
I like them in all shapes, sizes, colours, attitudes and yes,
I think I even like a diverse number of political views
for stale conformity wouldn’t give me the fuel to fulfill your ideals
in my own life.
Mr. Douglas, your dedication fuels my devotion
even when this party seems to shrivel and shrink away from
the challenge of a democratic socialist society
I love the fact that I can reflect back and cherish those
innocent conversations you had with microphones
I love the fact that your ideals for the good life
mirror so closely my own.
