opposition

with fewer sympathies than the preachers hold,
army of only a handful
faltering dialogue aplenty
I will be there, unrelenting in my determination.

with less than a perfectly manicured hand
curled eyebrows overflowing
burdened belt buckles
I will be there, raising my musical voice.

with meager resources at my beck and call
frugal assortment of associates
minuscule personal sacrifice
I will be there, agitating my aggressors.

with scantily prepared arguments,
captain of an wayward ship
rising fortunes lifting any doubts
I will be there, foraging for my fight.
