Perspective
It’s all a matter of perspective
The yearning, the tossing
The frustration of years
I can be thrown or I can set off to glide
But it comes back
Essentially
To perspective
It’s all a matter of perspective
This divide can be conquered
Or the ravine may conquer me
But the thrill of waking to glittering trees
Soft warm mental images
Lightning freeze
See? Perspective
It’s all a matter of perspective
Reaching out, drawing you,
Yes, YOU! in
Cuddled into my crevice of celebration
This space could have shivered
But why bother
When sunbeams can and do penetrate
One again: perspective
It’s all a matter of perspective
Up, down, melodrama, confusion
But rejoice – the day drew nearer
The night folded under it’s blanket
The shiver decreased
And the yelling wasn’t cloudy -
Clarity is the breath of wisdom
Exhale or inhale: perspective
It’s all a matter of perspective
This itch: scratch or sooth?
This mental blocking that must be lifted – or dropped?
I can imagine two solutions,
Both looming like the angelic devil I know
Of schizophrenia
Even resolution may be unnecessary
From this perspective
It’s all a matter of perspective
Street smart, book stupid?
Left? Right? Apathetic? Involved?
Paranoid? Content? Relaxed? On edge?
Unfilled? Empty?
Dreamy? Dreary?
Phoney? Authentic?
Correct? Inaccurate?
Precise? Ignorant?
Happy? Sad?
Wishful? Wish-less?
Good? Evil?
Conservative? Progressive?
Intelligent? Dumb witted?
Amusing? Intolerable?
Satisfying? Unfulfilling?
Contentious? Non-issue?
Success? The end?
Poetry? Drivel?
As I said, it’s perspective.
