prose that inspires
I find a few lyrics
humming so true
in my hours
of need of comfort.
I like this line:
“I go from day to day.
I know where the cupboards are.
I know where the car is parked.
I know he isn’t you.”
and I like,
“Days like this, I don’t know what to do with myself.
All day and all night.
I wander the halls along the walls
and under my breath
I say to myself
I need fuel to take flight.”
Further,
I enjoy my own words from time to time.
My favourite is,
“I can close my eyes now and find a vast awakening
my future longed for this beginning to blossom
shimmer, twinkle, a wink in the universe
I now know why I am here.”
but I also really like,
“Clarity is the breath of wisdom.”
There is so much about melody and music
and words and rhymes
that bring happiness to these cheeks,
even in their darkest of hours.
