still conscious

if this connection is real
I know what that feels like
if this solace is strong
I know how to shimmer through the summer

if this staleness is liveable
I know how to inhabit this village
if this rotting is passable
I know how to live in this town

if this mood is unquestionable
I know how to seek enjoyment here
if this dancing is unlaughable
I know how to celebrate my life

if this gloom is put-upable
I know how to weather the tide
if this shack is hospitable
I know where to make my bed

if this place is my home
I know my calling draws me back
if this village is my ancestry
I know my roots are planted here

if this village is that destiny
I know the answer to life’s challenges
if this consciousness is real
I know how to maintain and survive.
