thanksgiving for a treaty settler canadian

I spent the day reading,
and not my treaty rights.

thankfully someone signed up a few years ago
and gave me some.

thankfully someone negotiated on my behalf
and gave me some.

I am thankful to be alive,
to be healthy,
to be loved,
to be included,
to be educated,
to be aware,
to be conscious,
to be here.

I am thankful to be a treaty settler canadian,
a permanent citizen of treaty four.
