Those who shall ignore

Those who shall ignore
the daily duties I don’t ever need to list
the requirements put forth by this planet
commitments to our peers
beyond buying the next round
get one less point for human citizenship

Those who shall ignore
what dreams others have blessed them with
the hope to instigate something special
the authority to mould money into magic
neglect innate desires for proper representation
and fail to fulfill their promises
as weak as they may be

Those who shall ignore
the trust we’ve entrusted in them
spit in our face, smudge out the respect
clip it from its already dangling position
and then ignore the consequences.
