working-employed-happy
if this career call is actually necessary
I’m not sure I want it
This can’t be my future decided here in an instance
Not the definite answer swirled into the bottom of a coffee cup
The grinds remind me of that hope that existed
once in an hourglass
I don’t believe this is my calling,
Yet it’s being decided before my interests are heard
my friend has stopped this process in its tracks
because what would be wrong with the dreams
As laid out in my mind
Are they too stale for you liking?
This toast is dry, deserted on the edge
Just as I experienced it before in that life that was mine
Before the breath froze in this northern lit sky
But it’s quick to be tossed before the serious discussion begins
It won’t mind ending up in someone else’s lunch
Someone else’s unfulfilled life plan.
